Spurs’ win total set at over/under 57
The San Antonio Spurs made a splash this offseason by adding All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge to their already championship-caliber roster. Will it translate to more wins?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Spurs’ over/under for wins has been set at 57 after the team earned 55 victories last season. In fact, the Spurs haven’t won fewer than 55 games over the past three seasons, although the only reason why they didn’t win 55-plus games in 2011-12 was because it was a strike-shortened season.
The Spurs are clearly serious about making another championship run while Tim Duncan is still in uniform. That’s why they gave Aldridge $80 million over four years this offseason. Aldridge joins a roster that already boasts the Defensive Player of the Year in Kawhi Leonard, as well as productive-when-healthy point guard Tony Parker. The only thing that will slow down this San Antonio team is injuries to star players.
The Spurs will open their 2015-16 season on the road in Oklahoma City when they tip off against the Thunder at 8:00PM ET on Wednesday. San Antonio is currently a 4-point underdog in that matchup.
