Hornets to be without Jefferson vs. Warriors

The Hornets will be the latest opponent to try and hand the Warriors their first loss of the 2015-16 season but they’ll be without Al Jefferson tonight when the two teams meet at Time Warner Cable Arena.

View Tonight’s NBA Odds

Jefferson will be sidelined for the next 2-3 weeks after a MRI on Monday confirmed that he’s dealing with a strained left calf. Spencer Hawes, Cody Zeller and Frank Kaminsky will be forced to play more in Big Al’s absence, while Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum will have bigger roles in Charlotte’s offense.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI currently have the Hornets listed as a 9-point home underdog for their 7:00PM ET tip-off against the Warriors tonight. As for the total, the number has been bet down from 212 to 211.

Our NBA Public Betting page shows that 74% of bettors are currently backing the Warriors to cover the spread tonight. There might be some value in the Hornets, who are 9-7 at the betting window this season. That said, they’ve failed to cover the number in back-to-back games coming into tonight’s matchup.
