According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the East actually has quite a few competitive series. Both the Hawks and Heat only find themselves as a -150 favorite in their respective series against the Celtics and Hornets, who each have a +130 money line. Despite having a great season, Toronto is just a -340 favorite to win over the Pacers (+270). Not surprisingly, the Cavaliers are a heavy -1600 favorite against the Pistons (+1000).
Despite being the biggest underdog in the East, the Pistons actually won the season series with the Cavaliers, taking three out of four games, including both games in Cleveland.
The Heat and Hornets split their four meetings this year, with each team getting a home and road win. The Hawks were able to win three of four from the Celtics, including one win in Boston. The Raptors also won three of four from the Pacers, including a 101-94 OT win in Indiana.
