Visitors’ standout point guard sidelined
Nobody will confuse the Lakers’ current cast members with their “Showtime” predecessors. Still, the offensive stylings of Luke Walton’s young team have surprised many so far this season. Can the fun continue against Golden State?
The two Pacific Division rivals meet tonight, with a 10:30 p.m. ET tip at Oracle Arena. Online sports book Bovada.lv gives Steve Kerr’s bunch odds of -7500 to emerge victorious. Conversely, Los Angeles represents a +2500 underdog.
On Nov. 4, the Lakers got the best of the Warriors, 117-97. Julius Randle had 20 points and 14 rebounds in that early-season triumph. Larry Nance Jr. narrowly missed a double-double off the bench, as well.
Now, though, the road is getting considerably tougher for Walton’s troops. They’ve dropped three of five and likely won’t be able to lean on D’Angelo Russell in several hours. The second-year phenom keeps dealing with a sore left knee.

On the flip side, Golden State’s getting healthier in more ways than one. Stephen Curry & Co. slaughtered Indiana on Monday, 120-83, nailing 13 shots from beyond the arc. The inside-outside game should thrive here, too, to the tune of a double-digit win.
