Hawks vs. Knicks Prediction
The Knicks are a small home underdog versus the Hawks today at 1:00PM ET. Will New York cover the spread?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Knicks are 3-point home underdogs versus the Hawks while the over/under currently sits at 209.5 points. New York opened as a 3-point underdog so that number hasn’t changed, but the total hit the board at 209 and dropped slightly to 209.5.
Dennis Schroder really struggled for the Hawks on Sunday, committing five turnovers with six points, six assists and two rebounds in 24 minutes of action. That said, the Hawks have still won eight of 10 games and have covered in seven of their last 10 so they remain a hot team overall. They’re 23-17 on the year and 12-9 on the road, including owning a 12-9 mark against the spread on the road.
The Knicks are coming off a blowout loss to the Raptors and coach Jeff Hornacek threatened to make changes to his starting lineup heading into Monday. “I had to start looking at different possibilities with that group,” said Hornacek. “This isn’t the first time that it has happened. We saw the second group come in there and play hard and get after it defensively and consequently they got stuff on the offensive end.” Kristaps Porzingis is headed for a game-time decision today due to an Achilles injury.

OUR PREDICTION: The Hawks are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall, are a perfect 4-0 against the number in their last four road games, and have covered in 10 of their last 12 games when playing on no rest. No reason to bet against them today as a small favorite, especially when the Knicks are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall and are a team in turmoil.
