Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Lakers 10-point favorites over the Hornets on Tuesday. The over/under for tonight’s game (which is a 10:30PM ET tip off) is currently set at 183 points.
In Game 4 on Sunday, New Orleans covered outright in a 93-88 victory, as Chris Paul finished with 27 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists. Bryant failed to score in the first half and wound up missing his first seven shots total. He did finish with 17 points, six rebounds and eight assists, but was just 5-for-18 shooting.
At the end of the game, he was given crutches for a left foot/ankle sprain that he suffered during the fourth quarter. While the injury looked bad on television, Kobe says he will play in Game 5. He did mention after that he was “concerned” about the injury, but noted that he’s “played through so many of them it kind of becomes old hat for me.”
NBA Playoff Free Pick: Even if Bryant plays, there’s no way he’ll be at full strength and the Hornets have already proven that they can hang with L.A. in this series. Taking New Orleans at +10 seems like quite the value, especially when you consider that the Hornets are 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 trips to L.A. According to latest NBA trends, the road team is also 15-5 ATS in the last 20 meetings between these two teams, while the underdog is 17-5 ATS in the last 22 meetings. New Orleans looks too good to pass up – take the Hornets and the points.
