A High-Scoring Affair in Minnesota

Even though Steph Curry is set to miss another game for the Warriors, will Golden State’s matchup with the Timberwolves today in Minnesota still turn into a shootout?

LINE MOVEMENT

Both the total and the over/under have moved off their original numbers. Golden State went from -5.5 down to -5, while the total dropped from 226 down to 225.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of this writing, 71% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Warriors to cover the point spread. Meanwhile, 62% of the betting tickets are on the over.

KEY INJURY TO WATCH

Curry will miss his second straight game for the Warriors due to an ankle injury. Jimmy Butler (knee) also remains out for the Timberwolves, who should have Karl-Anthony Towns (hand) available.

BETTING STRATEGY

Even without Butler, the Timberwolves are not having issues scoring. But as coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters again this week, their defense remains a massive weakness. The Warriors also struggled on that end against the Blazers in their last game, surrendering 131.5 points per 100 possessions. That was one of their worst defensive games of the season.

The over is 11-4 in the Warriors’ last 15 games coming off a loss and is a perfect 6-0 in the Timberwolves’ last six home games. The over is also 10-2 in Minnesota’s last 12 games, is 9-2 in its last 11 games versus Western Conference foes, and is 6-0 in its last six home games when facing an opponent with a winning road record.

OUR PREDICTION: WARRIORS/TIMBERWOLVES OVER 225
