LINE MOVEMENT
Atlanta opened as a 10-point road underdog but the line has climbed a half-point to a full point at the majority of online sportsbooks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 215.5 after hitting the board at 214.5.
PUBLIC BETTING
As of this writing, 63% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Hawks to cover the point spread this evening. Meanwhile, 62% of the betting tickets are on the under.
KEY INJURY TO WATCH
Kent Bazemore (knee) is out for the year while Taurean Prince (undisclosed) is probable for the Hawks. On the other side, Malcolm Brogdon (knee) and Matthew Dellavedova (ankle) are both out for the Bucks.
BETTING STRATEGY
The Hawks are in the midst of a 2-8 SU and ATS slump over their last 10 games but the Bucks haven’t fared much better (3-7 SU, 2-8 ATS). Thus, I don’t think Milwaukee should be laying double-digits against any opponent right now. This is a team that lost 126-117 to the Magic and trailed by 16 points after one quarter. Giannis Antetokounmpo remains highly effective but when your head coach describes your team’s effort as “horrible” following a loss, things aren’t heading in the right direction. The Hawks are 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 games in Milwaukee and 6-1 against the number in their last seven games versus the Bucks overall so I’ll take my chances with the road dog.
