The Warriors have established a 2-0 lead in the series following a 110-81 win in Game 2 on Wednesday. Golden State has won eight straight meetings with the Blazers, but Portland is 3-1 against the spread in the last four meetings. Golden State is 69-15 on the season, 31-10 on the road and 41-40-3 against the spread. Portland is 41-43 overall, 25-16 at home and 41-43 against the spread.
The Warriors played without Kevin Durant in Game 2, but it didn’t stop them from rolling along as their defense really stepped up. Golden State held Portland to just 30-of-90 shooting from the field and only 7-of-34 from 3-point land. Golden State didn’t exactly light the net on fire, going just 10-of-32 from 3-point land. Draymond Green only had six points, but had 12 rebounds, 10 assists and three blocks. Stephen Curry added 19 points and four steals. Damian Lillard had just 12 points on 5-of-17 shooting in the loss while C.J. McCollum had only 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting.
Durant is still questionable to play in this game because of his calf injury. The Warriors had a great defensive showing in Game 2, but are not a great defensive team in general. Lillard and McCollum are much more likely to have a big game at home tonight in Game 3 and I think this is the game that the Blazers make their strongest push to win. Falling behind 3-0 basically ends this series, so Portland should play desperate and give their full effort. I like them to cover and possibly grab the win.
