Bet NBA Action For Wednesday, April 4, 2018

LINE MOVEMENT

Miamii opened as a 7-point favorite, while the total has gone down after opening at 206. The game can be bet at -8 or -8.5 if you shop around, while the total is at 205.5 at all sportsbooks.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Wednesday afternoon, 51 percent of public bets are siding with the visiting Heat. Online wager info also shows that 52 percent of bets are being placed on the over.

INJURY TO WATCH

Miami shooting guard Dion Waiters (ankle) is out for the season. For Atlanta, three players are questionable – shooting guard Antonius Cleveland (ankle), point guard Malcolm Delaney (ankle) and center DeWayne Dedmon (ribs). Point guard Jaylen Morris (ankle) is out until mid-April. Point guard Dennis Schroder (ankle) and shooting guard Kent Bazemore (knee) are out for the season.

BETTING STRATEGY

Just last night, the Heat defeated the Hawks for the third time this season as they prevailed 101-98 in Miami. With the spread being -12.5, Miami didn’t come close to covering that big number. Typically in these situations, the team that doesn’t win the first meeting tends to win the second one straight up. This might be a little different considering Atlanta is in full tank mode with some of its best players out, but I still like the hosts to stay within the number here.
