Magic vs. Spurs Pick

Will the Orlando Magic manage to keep it close and cover the spread tonight when they play at the San Antonio Spurs? Game time is set for 8:30PM ET.

LINE MOVEMENT

San Antonio opened as the 10.5-point fave it is now, while the total has dropped after opening at 206 points. The Spurs are a 10.5-point favorite at most books, but can be found at -10. The total is at 202.5 almost everywhere, but through shopping around it can be bet at 203.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Tuesday afternoon, 55 percent of bets are siding with the Spurs. Online wager info also shows that 52 percent of bets are coming in on the under.

INJURY TO WATCH

Magic forward Aaron Gordon (brain injury) is expected to miss tonight’s game, while Evan Fournier (sprained MCL) is out indefinitely. For the Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge (knee) soreness is questionable. Kawhi Leonard (quadriceps) appears to be nearing a return, but he will remain out tonight.

BETTING STRATEGY

San Antonio has lost eight of its last 10 games and is right on the edge of the Western Conference playoff picture. The Spurs are coming off a brutally tough road stretch where they lost to the Warriors, Thunder and Rockets in the span of five days. Tonight’s game should be easier, but I don’t really trust this San Antonio squad. If Aldridge plays, maybe take a chance. But I’d rather side with an Orlando team that is 2-8 straight up over its last 10 contests, but 5-5 ATS.
