NBA Predictions: Can Trail Blazers keep up with Warriors? 12/11/17

Trail Blazers vs. Warriors Pick

Do the Portland Trail Blazers have the formula to cover the spread tonight at 10:30PM ET when they play at the Golden State Warriors?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Warriors are listed as a 10.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 217 points.

Portland comes in at 13-12 overall and 9-13-2 ATS after a 124-117 home loss to the Rockets, its fourth consecutive defeat. Golden State is 21-6 overall and 13-14 ATS following a 102-98 victory at the Pistons, its sixth consecutive win. The Warriors went 8-0 straight up and 5-3 ATS in eight meetings last season. The over went 5-3.

The Trail Blazers were paced by Damian Lillard with 35 points, six assists and four rebounds in the loss to Houston. CJ McCollum poured in 28 points to go with four assists and two rebounds. Al-Farouq Aminu added 15 points, five rebounds and two assists. Portland was without center Jusuf Nurkic, who is expected to miss tonight’s game as well. The Blazers were outscired 40-19 in the fourth quarter.

Kevin Durant paced the Warriors with 36 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and five blocked shots in the win at Detroit. Klay Thompson tallied 21 points, five assists and four rebounds. David West added 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. The Warriors trailed by four at halftime before outscoring the Pistons 31-17 in the third quarter.

Portland is 7-21 ATS in its last 28 meetings at Golden State. The over is 21-7 in the last 28 meetings.

Bet on Trail Blazers vs. Warriors

The Trail Blazers, like much of the NBA, have had massive problems when facing the Warriors. It won’t get any easier tonight with Nurkic out of the lineup, although Golden State being without Stephen Curry will only help Portland. Lillard is going to have a massive game to keep the Blazers in it and after he torched the Rockets for 36 points including nine 3-pointers, it is clear he is at the top of his game. With the Warriros so often playing small ball, perhaps Nurkic won’t be as big of a loss as he was against Houston. We’ll take the Blazers to keep it within  the spread tonight with Lillard and McCollum leading the way as usual.
