NBA Predictions: Should Bettors Lay Points with Warriors & Rockets? 2/28/18

Warriors, Rockets worth Laying Points

The biggest matchup on Wednesday night’s NBA slate is in Washington where the Wizards will host the Warriors. Is Golden State the play? Here are two favorites I’ll be playing tonight.

Warriors at Wizards, 8:00 p.m. ET

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook YouWager, the Warriors are 9-point road favorites to beat the Wizards while the over/under currently sits at 225.5 points after hitting the board at 229. The Wizards have been fantastic without John Wall, winning seven of their last 10 games both on the hardwood and at the betting window. But this is a bad time to play the Warriors, who have played outstanding defense over their past five games. I expect Golden State to start turning things up post All-Star break in efforts to catch Houston for home-court advantage. The Warriors are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games in Washington and have covered in five of their last seven games overall.

NBA Prediction: Golden State Warriors -9

Rockets at Clippers, 10:30 p.m. ET

Speaking of Houston, the Rockets are the other favorite I would lay the wood with tonight. This is a nice revenge spot for Houston, which lost to L.A. twice already this season. The Rockets are hot at the betting window, covering in four of their last five games and four straight on the road. They’re also a perfect 8-0 at the betting window in their last eight games versus a team with a winning record. Houston opened as a 7-point road favorite but the line has climbed to 8, including both public bettors and sharps are on the visitor.

NBA Prediction: Houston Rockets -8
