Jazz vs. Celtics Pick
Are the Utah Jazz the right play when they play at the Boston Celtics tonight at 7:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Celtics are listed as a 6-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 198 points.
Utah comes in with a 13-15 record and 15-13 ATS after a 103-100 loss at the Bulls, its fourth consecutive loss. Boston is 24-6 overall and 20-8-2 ATS following a 124-118 home win over the Nuggets. The Celtics went 2-0 straight up and 2-0 ATS in two meetings last season. The over went 2-0.
The Jazz were led by Donovan Mitchell with 32 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals in the loss at Chicago. Rodney Hood had 15 points, four assists and two rebounds off the bench in his first game back from injury. Ricky Rubio added 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. Utah committed 16 turnovers, compared to nine for the Bulls.
Boston was paced by Kyrie Irving with 33 points, seven assists and two blocked shots in the win over Denver. Jaylen Brown tallied 26 points, five rebounds and two steals. Aaron Baynes added 17 points, six rebounds and two assists. The Celtics led 68-59 at halftime.
Utah is 2-9-2 ATS in the last 13 meetings. The under is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings in Boston.
Utah found a revelation in Mitchell, one of the top players out of the 2017 rookie class. But coming off a loss at the Bulls, the Jazz are struggling to find their way since the return of Rudy Gobert from injury. But with its style of play, Utah should be able to match up well with the Celtics and keep this contest close throughout. Gobert is getting healthier with every game and Hood is healthy again, giving the Jazz plenty of options. Go with the visitors in this spot.
