Bet NBA Action For Friday, March 23, 2018

LINE MOVEMENT

Minnesota opened as a 6.5-point favorite on the spread line, while the total was originally set at 223.5. The Timberwolves are a 7.5-point fave at most books, but can be found at -7 at some books such as YouWager. The total is at 225 or 225.5 at most places, but can be found up to 226.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Friday afternoon, 86 percent of public bets are pouring in on the T-Wolves. Online wager info also says that 52 percent of bets are siding with the over.

INJURY TO WATCH

Minnesota point guard Derrick Rose (ankle) will miss the next two games. Point guard Aaron Brooks (personal) is out indefinitely, while shooting guard Jimmy Butler (knee) is out until early April. For the Knicks, small forward Lance Thomas (personal) is doubfful. Center Joakim Noah (personal), power forward Kristaps Porzingis (knee) and shooting guard Ron Baker (shoulder) are out for the season.

BETTING STRATEGY

The Knicks were blown out 119-98 at the Heat in their last game, but had won the previous two at home straight up and ATS. I typically don’t mind betting on New York as a sizeable home underdog as it is 18-17 straight up on its home floor this season. Meanwhile, Minnesota is only 14-22 straight up on the road. With the public pounding the Timberwolves, this is a good opportunity for a contrarian bet and going with the home team here.
