LINE MOVEMENT

The spread and the total are still right where they were when they opened at YouWager. The spread can be found at -3.5 and -4.5 at certain books, while the total is 219 at most places but can be found at 219.5.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Saturday afternoon, 56 percent of public bets are coming in on the Lakers. Online wager info also shows that 73 percent of bets are siding with the over.

INJURY TO WATCH

Lakers forward Brandon Ingram left the last game with a hip flexor strain and is questionable for tonight’s game. Channing Frye has been out after an appendectomy and won’t be back until Monday’s game against Portland at the earliest. For the Spurs, Pau Gasol is questionable with a knee bruise. Even more significant is the ankle sprain suffered by LaMarcus Aldridge last game, which has him listed as doubtful to play tonight.

BETTING STRATEGY

On the one hand, not having Gasol or Aldridge in the lineup would likely cause the Spurs to play at a faster tempo with guards Dejounte Murray and Patty Mills seeing a nice uptick in usage. But San Antonio will also be less efficient from the floor without their two offensively gifted bigs. Los Angeles has been playing a lot of high-scoring games lately, but in this environment against this team has me thinking they’ll struggle a bit more on offense tonight. And while the Lakers aren’t a great defensive team, the absence of Gasol and Aldridge would help immensely. Check on the status of both players before placing a bet if you are able.
