Suns vs. Trail Blazers Pick
Are the host Portland Trail Blazers going to cover the large spread tonight at 10PM ET when they play the Phoenix Suns?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Portland. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Trail Blazers are an 11-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 217 points. Portland opened as a 10.5-point favorite on the spread line, while the total has dropped slightly from 218 points.
Who the Public Likes: As of Tuesday afternoon, 63 percent of public bets have sided with the visiting Suns.
Injury Report: Suns forward Marquese Chriss has missed the last two games with a hip injury and has been ruled out tonight. TJ Warren missed the last game with lower back soreness and is also ruled out tonight. Alan Williams is out unti late March after surgery to repair a torn meniscus. Brandon Knight is out for the season with a torn ACL. For the Trail Blazers, Shabazz Napier suffered a back strain in the last game and is questionable tonight. CJ Wilcox is out indefinitely as he rehabs a knee injury.
Who the Trends Like: Phoenix is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 meetings in Portland. The under is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings in Portland. The under is 6-0 in the last six Phoenix games following an ATS loss.
Who We Like: Portland has lost three in a row, but a game against the Suns without two key players in Chriss and Warren could be the right antidote. Devin Booker will have to carry the Phoenix offense and it will be more difficult against one of the NBA’s best perimeter defenses. The Blazers will have motivation to end their skid, which was all road losses, and come out firing in this one. The spread is large to cover, but I believe Portland gets it done with a tremendous defensive effort and efficient offense against a porous Suns defense.
