INJURY TO WATCH
Golden State point guard Stephen Curry departed last night’s 110-107 home victory over the Spurs with an ankle sprain and did not return. He will not play tonight. Klay Thompson is battling a hip injury but is expected to play. Jordan Bell is also out with an ankle sprain. David West (arm cyst) and Andre Iguodala (wrist sprain) are both questionable. For Portland, Maurice Harkless has missed three straight games with a knee injury but is expected to play tonight.
BETTING STRATEGY
Portland won the last meeting against the Warriors on its home floor by a count of 123-117 on Feb. 14 and that was with Curry in the lineup. His absence will be huge and although Kevin Durant plus Thompson and Draymond Green can always be counted on when increased production is needed, fatigue could be a factor. here. So if you want to take the Trail Blazers, I am not going to object. But I like the over here more. The total has dropped eight points, but with all the firepower still on the court it should be a free-flowing and high-scoring game. These two teams got to 240 total points last time. Is Curry’s absence going to cause a 22-point drop? I don’t think it will. The original total of 226 was right to drop some after the Curry injury, but this feels a bit too extreme. Take the over.
