Pacers vs. Nets Pick
Is a high-scoring game in the cards this evening when the Indiana Pacers play at the Brooklyn Nets? Tip-off is at 6 PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Pacers are a 3-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 217 points.
Indiana enters with a 16-13 overall record and 17-12 ATS after a 104-98 home loss to the Pistons. Brooklyn is 11-17 overall and 17-11 ATS following a 120-87 loss at the Raptors. The Pacers won the first meeting this season by a count of 140-131 at home on Oct. 18. Indiana is 4-1 straight up and 4-1 ATS in five meetings since the start of last season. The over has gone 3-2.
The Pacers were led by Victor Oladipo in the loss to Detroit with 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Myles Turner accounted for 24 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. Thaddeus Young added 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Indiana led 54-52 at halftime, but were outscored 34-20 in the third quarter.
Nik Stauskas accounted for 22 points, seven rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes off the bench in his Brooklyn debut at Toronto. Isaiah Whitehead tallied 13 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals as a reserve. Jahlil Okafor added 10 points and four board in 23 minutes in his Nets debut. Brooklyn was outscored 62-43 by the Raptors in the second half.
Indiana is 11-5 ATS in its last 16 meetings in Brooklyn. The over is 37-16-1 in the last 54 meetings.
Considering there were 271 points scored in the last meeting between these two squads, we could be in for another serious shootout. If the total was five points higher, I probably wouldn’t blink an eye. The Nets added a couple pieces in Ohkafor and Stauskas who are better offensive than defensive players, while both teams here play fast. Indiana thrives on the 3-pointer and if it gets going from long range, this game should fly past the total.
