Timberwolves vs. Pistons Pick
Are the Minnesota Timberwolves in a good position to beat the favored Boston Celtics on the road tonight at 7PM ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Boston. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Celtics are a 3.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 207 points. The spread has dropped after Boston opened as a 5.5-point favorite, while the total has gone up after opening at 205 points.
Who the Public Likes: As of Friday morning, 79 percent of public bets that have come in have sided with the host Celtics.
Injury Report: Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague is out until late January with an MCL sprain. Celtics center Aaron Baynes is probable to play tonight after suffering an ankle injury last game. Marcus Morris is out tonight with a lingering knee injury. Gordon Hayward has been out with a broken ankle suffered in the season opener.
Who the Trends Like: Minnesota is 0-5 ATS in its last five meetings in Boston. The over is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings and 10-3-1 in the last 14 meetings in Boston.
Who We Like: Minnesota is 2-2 since the Teague injury, but I believe it is a team in very capable hands with Tyus Jones at point guard. He’s shown to be a steady hand at the position and can defer most of the offense to the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns, Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins and even Taj Gibson. Boston has won four in a row and picked up the pace since a slow stretch, but after coming off an emotional 102-88 victory over the Cavaliers, this could be a letdown spot. I’ll put my money on the T-Wolves.
