Warriors vs. Hornets Prediction
Will the Golden State Warriors once again cover as a road favorite when they visit the Charlotte Hornets at 8:00 p.m. ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Golden State. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Warriors are 5-point road favorites to beat the Hornets, who opened as 5.5-point home underdogs. As for the total, the number currently sits at 219.5 points after also hitting the board at that same number.
Who Public Bettors Like: Golden State. As of this writing, 75% of tickets are on the Warriors to cover the point spread as a road favorite.
Injury Report: The biggest injury is the one affecting Stephen Curry, who twisted his ankle in the team’s victory over the Pelicans on Monday night. Curry has already been ruled out for this game. Zaza Pachulia is also questionable with a shoulder injury.
Who We Like: Charlotte. The Hornets are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games coming off a win, are 4-1 against the number in their last five home games, and are 17-8-1 at the betting window in their last 26 home games versus an opponent with a road winning percentage of greater than .600.
On the other side, the Warriors are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games when taking on an opponent with a winning home record. Without Curry, I don’t like Golden State’s chances of rallying from 20 points down like it did on Monday night in New Orleans. I’ll take the points.
