Wizards vs. Trail Blazers Pick
Are the Washington Wizards and host Portland Trail Blazers going to play a low-scoring game tonight at 10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Trail Blazers are a 6.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 202 points.
Washington comes in with a 12-11 record and 12-11 ATS after a 116-69 loss at the Jazz. Portland is 13-10 on the season and 8-12-3 ATS following a 123-116 home loss to the Pelicans. The Trail Blazers won the season’s first meeting by a count of 108-105 at Washington on Nov. 25. The Wizards are 2-1 straight up and 2-1 ATS in three meetings since the start of last season. The over is 3-0.
The Wizards were led by Otto Porter Jr. with 14 points and six rebounds in the loss at Utah. Markieff Morris, Bradley Beal and Kelly Oubre Jr. had 11 points apiece. Washington trailed 64-30 at halfitme.
Damian Lillard tallied 29 points, eight assists and five rebounds in the loss to New Orleans. CJ McCollum accounted for 17 points, four rebounds and three assists. Meyers Leonard added 17 points, three assists and two rebounds off the bench. Portland was outscored a combined 72-49 in the second and third quarters.
The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Portland. The Trail Blazers are 0-2-2 in their last four home games.
Bet on Wizards vs. Trail Blazers
The Wizards were humiliated, embarrassed and everything in between in the blowout loss at the Jazz. It shows how valuable John Wall is to the entire operation. With Beal struggling his last few games, Washington is without a go-to scorer and now it faces a team that is among the best in the NBA at guarding the 3-point line. To their credit, the Wizards have also greatly improved in recent weeks at guarding the perimeter. With Portland employing one of the NBA’s slower tempos and best defenses, expect this game to stay under. The Blazers certainly don’t want to give up another 123 points like they did at home to New Orleans their last time out.
