Wednesday’s NBA Underdog Selctions

Which NBA underdogs are worth plays on Wednesday night? Here are three that give bettors value, including the red-hot Pelicans.

Pelicans at Spurs, 8:30 p.m. ET

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook YouWager, the Pelicans are now 5-point road underdogs to beat the Spurs, who opened as 5.5-point favorites. New Orleans is red hot, winning six in a row and seven of its last 10 games. During the Penguins’ six-game winning streak, Anthony Davis has scored 249 points and the starting lineup of Davis-Rajon Rondo, Jrue Holiday, E’Twaun Moore, and Emeka Okafor has been virtually unstoppable on the offensive end. The Pelicans are 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games versus the Spurs. Give me the points with the hot team.

NBA Prediction: New Orleans Pelicans +5

Bet Wednesday’s NBA Slate

Bucks at Pistons, 7:00 p.m. ET

Milwaukee opened as a 2.5-point road underdog and despite 56% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks being on Detroit, the line has moved down to 1.5. The Pistons have lost six of their last seven games after starting the Blake Griffin era with three straight wins. They can’t score, they can’t stop anybody, and they don’t have quality depth at the moment. Even though Milwaukee is playing on back-to-back nights, have no fear: The Bucks are 15-5-1 at the betting window in their last 21 games playing off no rest. They’ve also covered four of their last five road games and the underdog is 11-5-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings between these two teams.

NBA Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks +1.5

Suns at Grizzlies, 8:00 p.m. ET

I know, I know…the Suns are terrible. They currently own the worst winning percentage in the league and have lost 10 straight games. But believe it or not, they have more to play for than the Grizzlies, who are in full tank mode at the moment. Memphis has dropped four of its last five games at the betting window and is just 7-16-1 ATS in its last 24 games playing on no rest. Plus, the line movement on this game has “wiseguy” written all over it, as the Suns went from +2 down to +1 before the line moved back up to 1.5. I’m rolling the dice on the lousy Suns.

NBA Prediction: Phoenix Suns +1.5
