According to oddsmakers at YouWager, The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets are currently co-favorites to win the West, as each is getting -105 to win. The Portland Trail Blazers are the next closest with +2500 odds.

The Rockets had the top record in the NBA this season at 65-17. They will be the top seed in the West and will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the opening round of the playoffs. Houston averaged 112.4 points per game this season while improving their defense and allowing just 103.9 per game. Houston has won the conference title four times, last doing so in 1995.

The Warriors are the three-time defending conference champs and they come into the playoffs as the second seed in the West after going 58-24 during the season. The Warriors averaged 113.5 points per game this season while allowing 107.5 per game. Golden State will be without Stephen Curry to start the playoffs because of a knee injury. The Warriors open the playoffs against the Spurs. The Warriors have won the Western Conference title six times.

Portland is the third seed in the West after posting a 49-33 record during the regular season. Portland averaged 105.6 points per game this season while allowing 103.0 per game. The Blazers will face the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the playoffs. The Blazers have won the Western Conference three times, last doing so in 1992.
