Brooklyn Nets DFS Spin
Brooklyn guard Kyrie Irving has been suspended for conduct detrimental to the organization. Forward Ben Simmons won’t make the trip to Charlotte and is officially out for Brooklyn’s game on Saturday. Nets guard Seth Curry missed Friday’s game against the Wizards but will play in Brooklyn’s game Saturday in Charlotte.
Nets forward Kevin Durant will likely get the bulk of the shots on Saturday. He’s currently averaging 32 points per game, the fourth-highest mark in the NBA. He’d be a nice addition to your DFS lineup on Saturday. A less-heralded player that may have some value is Brooklyn power forward Nic Claxton. Claxton is averaging 12.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game for the Nets, and he’s shooting 72.9% from the field on the season. With Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons out, it will be up to Claxton, Royce O’Neale, and Seth Curry to pick up the scoring slack for the Nets in Charlotte on Saturday.
Charlotte Hornets DFS Spin
Charlotte will be down two starting guards in their game against Brooklyn on Saturday. Both Lamelo Ball and Terry Rozier missed Friday’s game against the Grizzlies, and they’ll both be out for Saturday’s clash with the Nets. Forward Gordon Hayward is officially listed as questionable for Saturday’s game with a shoulder ailment.
The two players who will likely be relied on to carry some of the scoring load are shooting guard Kelly Oubre Jr. and power forward P.J. Washington. Oubre is third on the Hornets in scoring, as he’s pouring in 17.3 points per game. He’s been solid from beyond the arc this season, averaging 2.6 made threes per contest while shooting at an efficient 37.1% clip. For the season, Oubre is also contributing 4.7 rebounds per game and 1.6 steals per game, so he may be able to help your DFS squad across multiple categories. If you need a combination of blocks and scoring, P.J. Washington should be able to help, as he’s averaging 15.3 points and 1.2 rejections per contest.

Nets vs. Hornets NBA Prediction:
Both teams are on the second night of a back-to-back for this game. Brooklyn blew out Washington 128-86 on Friday, and Charlotte got smoked by Memphis 130-99. Terry Rozier is Charlotte’s leading scorer, and not having him for this contest could prove pivotal. For the Nets, they don’t have to worry about Kyrie Irving for the time being. He’s suspended for at least 5 games and the team likely won’t be forced to answer questions about him. For now, the Nets are finally free to focus on basketball. I think Brooklyn wins this game handily over a short-handed Charlotte squad.
