Sunday’s NBA Opening Odds
(The Spread) – Six games are on the NBA schedule Sunday and it includes the New York Knicks hosting the Indiana Pacers at 6:00PM EST.
The New York Knicks enter play with a 34-30 record and are 18-13 in games at Madison Square Garden. New York is 6-4 since the trade that brought Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups to the squad. Indiana has a record of 27-38 overall and 10-23 on the road.
Oddsmakers and online sports book Bodog.com put the Knicks as 8-point favorites, while the over-under is set at 218. According to the latest trends, Indiana is 28-34 against the spread this season while New York is 39-23 ATS. The Pacers are 28-37 on over-unders and the Knicks are 32-31against the spread.
New York is 6-4 in its last 10 games, while Indiana is just 2-8 in its previous 10 contests but still holds down the eighth playoff seed in the watered-down Eastern Conference.
The Knicks are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up loss. The Pacers are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in New York. The Pacers are 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall. Indiana has not covered the spread in its last four games.
In other NBA action, the Toronto Raptors host the Charlotte Bobcats at 1:00PM EST. Toronto is a 1.5-point favorite and the over-under is 198.5. Oklahoma City travels to Cleveland for a 1:00PM EST tip, where the Thunder are 9.5-point favorites and the over-under is 211. Phoenix hosts Orlando at 3:30PM EST on ABC, but the game was not given an overnight line.
