No lingering knee issues for Howard
HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – Dwight Howard is reportedly having no lingering issues with his knee.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Howard’s knee is holding up well this summer after he played in just 41 games last season. The 29-year-old averaged 158 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks during the 2014-15 season but if he can stay healthy he’ll be more productive for the Rockets.
Howard has no lingering issues with the knee problems that cost him half the season or the injury that limited him in the Western Conference finals. Despite his offensive struggles before he shut it down midseason, he remained on an elite level defensively. His athleticism returned impressively in the final days of the regular season and first two rounds of the playoffs.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Rockets are 22/1 to win the 2016 NBA title. Houston is also 11/1 to win the Western Conference next season, putting them behind the Spurs (12/5), Warriors (3/1), Thunder (18/5) and Clippers (7/1) in terms of their odds.
