Thunder drop two straight
Oklahoma City is coming off a 114-106 loss at home to the Spurs on Tuesday for a second consecutive loss. The Thunder are 32-22 on the year, 15-10 on the road, 35-19 against the spread and 28-25-1 with the under.
The Thunder are putting up 110.4 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.1 percent from the field. Defensively, OKC is allowing just 107.9 points per game while opponents are shooting 45.6 percent against them. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the team with 19.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest. Dennis Schroder and Danilo Gallinari each add over 19 points per game as well.
Pelicans continue to surge
New Orleans is coming off a 138-117 win at home over Portland on Tuesday for a third straight victory. The Pelicans have covered in all three wins as well. New Orleans is 23-31 on the season, 11-16 at home, 28-24-2 against the spread and 31-23 with the over.
The Pelicans are putting up 115.7 points per game on offense this year while shooting 46 percent from the field. Defensively, New Orleans is allowing 117.2 points per game while opponents shoot 46.5 percent from the floor. Brandon Ingram has been leading the Pelicans with 24.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. He is questionable for the game tonight due to an ankle injury. Zion Williamson is adding 21 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games following a loss and 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games as a road underdog.
New Orleans
The Pelicans are 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as a home favorite.
Prediction:
The Thunder have won all three meetings with the Pelicans this season, but New Orleans didn’t have Zion and the Pelicans weren’t playing nearly as well as they are now. The Pelicans are really clicking on offense, scoring at least 124 in their last three games. While Ingram is questionable, I still think New Orleans can put up big points without them due to their ball movement and guard depth. The Pelicans give up points, but Oklahoma City isn’t a team that can really get into a track meet to win. I think the Pelicans continue their offensive momentum tonight and go into the break with another win and cover.
NBA Prediction: New Orleans Pelicans -2.5
