OKC stumbles at home
Oklahoma City suffered a 111-98 loss at home in Game 4 on Sunday. The Thunder now are down 3-1 in the series as they have been held under 100 points in all three losses. The Thunder are now 50-36 on the season, 22-21 on the road, 43-43 against the spread and 44-41-1 with the under.
The Thunder went back to struggling offensively in Game 4, as the team shot just 33 of 88 from the field and 15 of 40 from the arc. Russell Westbrook laid another egg in the series, putting up just 14 points on 5 of 21 shooting. He did add nine rebounds and seven assists. Paul George led the team with 32 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, but he has been battling a shoulder injury that seems to have him off his top game.
Blazers bounce back
Portland bounced back from the Game-3 loss with the impressive 13-point road victory on Sunday. The Blazers have now won six of their last seven coming into tonight. Portland is 56-30 on the season, 34-9 at home, 48-37-1 against the spread and 44-40-2 with the over.
The Blazers shot very well from the arc (15 of 35) and from the line (22 of 23) in Sunday’s win. That proved to be the difference. Damian Lillard put up 24 points with eight assists to lead the Blazers while CJ McCollum had 27 points. Al Farouq Aminu added 19 points and nine rebounds.
NBA Betting Trends
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six against Northwest opponents and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.
Portland
The Blazers are 21-8 against the spread in their last 29 games playing on 1 day of rest and 43-21-1 ATS in their last 65 home games.
Prediction:
The Thunder just haven’t looked good in this series. George doesn’t look his best and I am not sure if Westbrook is pressing for that reason, but he can’t hit much of anything right now. If Westbrook continues to struggle, OKC has no chance. I don’t like their chances going on the road against this Portland team, that has a leader in Damian Lillard that looks ready to really shine this postseason. The Blazers will have improved offensive numbers at home, while I think the Thunder will struggle once again and see their season end.
NBA Prediction: Portland Trail Blazers -4
