Magic riding two-game win streak
Orlando is coming off back-to-back wins at home over Boston and Houston over the last week. The Magic are now 19-24 on the season, 7-13 on the road, 22-21 against the spread and 26-17 with the under.
The Magic are struggling on offense this season, scoring just 103.3 points per game while shooting only 44.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Orlando is giving up 107.2 points per game. Rookie center Mo Bamba is questionable to play tonight due to a foot injury. Nikola Vucevic is leading the team with 20.1 points and 11.9 rebounds per game while Aaron Gordon is adding 15.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest.
Pistons cover in two straight
Detroit is coming off a four-game road trip out west where it went 1-3, but covered the spread in its last two games. The Pistons are now 18-24 overall, 11-10 at home, 19-22-1 against the spread and 23-19 with the under.
The Pistons have also struggled offensively this season. They average 106.6 points per game while being the second-worst team in the NBA in shooting percentage (43.4) and 3-point percentage (32.9). Defensively, Detroit gives up 109.5 points per game while holding opponents to just 32.3 percent shooting from the arc. Blake Griffin is leading the team with 25.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game while Andre Drummond is putting up 16.8 points and 15.0 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Orlando
The Magic have failed to cover in four straight road games and in seven of their last 10 against Central Division opponents.
Detroit
The Pistons are just 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven conference games and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine home games.
Prediction:
These two have met twice in Orlando this season, with each team grabbing a win and cover. The Magic have lost their last four games by at least 10 points in each one. Orlando has been an odd team, as they have some games where they really rise to the occasion and win a lopsided game that they aren’t favored in. Still, Detroit gained a little momentum to end their road trip and I think coming home against a poor offensive team will allow the Pistons to pick up the win and cover.
NBA Prediction: Detroit Pistons -3.5
