Pelicans unsure if Anthony Davis will play vs. Thunder on Wednesday

Anthony Davis might not face Thunder

Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry has said he’s uncertain whether or not Anthony Davis will play against the Thunder tonight at 8:00PM ET.

View Tonight’s NBA Odds

Davis is currently dealing with a left shoulder injury and while he did travel with his teammates, the public doesn’t know the severity of the injury. The Pelicans might choose to be cautious with their 22-year-old star and sit him out tonight in Oklahoma City. If they do, Ryan Anderson will see a bump in playing time.

Oddsmakers have already adjusted the spread for tonight’s Pelicans-Thunder matchup. After opening as an 8.5-point favorite, Oklahoma City is now -11.5 to beat New Orleans according to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag. The Davis injury hasn’t affected the total, as it remains 213.5 after opening at that same number.

The Pelicans have failed to cover the spread in three straight games, with their latest failed cover coming at home on Tuesday night when they lost 115-98 to the Nuggets as a 6-point favorite. (Davis left in the first quarter of this game.) On the other side, the Thunder have failed to cover in back-to-back games after covering in three straight.
