New Orleans Pelicans DFS Spin
C.J. McCollum (rest) is not on the injury report for Monday’s game against the Wizards. McCollum did not play in Saturday’s loss to the Mavericks, with Jose Alvarado replacing him in the starting lineup. Alvarado will return to the bench on Monday, which limits his fantasy value considerably. With the Pelicans playing three games next week with no back-to-backs, now is the time to drop Alvarado.
Washington Wizards DFS Spin
Kyle Kuzma shot 7-of-14 from the field and 7-of-8 from the foul line in Friday’s 127-110 loss to the Thunder, scoring 23 points with five rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 37 minutes. Kuzma has scored 20 points or more in four of his last five games, but he hasn’t been a great fantasy player over the last two weeks. Averaging 18.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 1.7 3-pointers per game, Kuzma’s ranked outside the top 200 in 9-cat formats over the last two weeks. Turnovers have been an issue, with Kuzma averaging 4.3 per game during this stretch, well over his average for the season (2.9). While his usage increases with Bradley Beal (hamstring) sidelined, Kuzma needs to be more efficient as a playmaker. Daniel Gafford (15/9/2/0/1), Kristaps Porzingis (14 points, 10 rebounds), and Monte Morris (10/2/1 with one 3-pointer) were also in double figures, but the Thunder were able to keep KP under wraps.
