According to the latest oddsmakers, Houston is the clear favorite in this game, as the Rockets are getting odds of -10.5 points against Phoenix. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 240.5 points. The public betting currently has 69 percent going on the Rockets as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Suns trying to heat up
Phoenix has won two of its last three road games over the week, beating Charlotte and New Orleans. The Suns are 10-11 overall, 5-4 on the road, 12-9 against the spread and 13-8 with the over.
The Suns have been able to put up points this year, averaging 115.6 points per contest while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from the arc. However, Phoenix has struggled on defense, allowing 114.1 points per game while opponents shoot 47.3 percent against them from the field and 37 percent from 3-point land. Devin Booker is leading the team with 25 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. Kelly Oubre Jr. is adding 17.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.
Rockets pick up big road win
Houston is coming off an impressive 119-109 victory at Toronto on Thursday night for a third win in four games. The Rockets are now 14-7 overall, 8-2 at home, 11-10 against the spread and 12-9 with the under.
The Rockets are the highest-scoring offense in the league, averaging 120.8 points per game while shooting just 44.5 percent. The Rockets get to the line as much as anyone, shooting nearly 30 free throws per game. Defensively, Houston isn’t great, allowing 115.2 points per game. James Harden is leading the Houston offense with 38.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game. Russell Westbrook is adding 21.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Phoenix
The Suns are just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a win.
Houston
The Rockets are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight Saturday games.
Prediction:
Houston has won 10 straight against Phoenix, but the Suns have actually managed to cover in four of the last five against the Rockets. The Rockets have been locked in on offense right now, scoring at least 117 in their last six games. That should definitely continue tonight against a Phoenix team that has struggled to stop anyone. The Suns have the ability to score as well, but I think they will have trouble keeping pace on the road against an offense that scores as frequently as Houston. The Rockets are playing at a high level and only getting better. I like them to dismantle the Suns at home tonight.
NBA Prediction: Houston Rockets -10.5
