Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Rockets are 12-point favorites to beat the Suns. The total, meanwhile, sits at 225 points and as of this writing, 66% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Rockets to cover the point spread.
Phoenix Suns Fantasy Spin
Deandre Ayton scored a career-low two points on 1-of-9 shooting vs. Utah on Wednesday, with nine rebounds, two steals and one block. The Suns’ rookie was stifled by Rudy Gobert (18 points, 20 rebounds) and a Jazz team vying to improve their playoff position. Ayton hadn’t been held to single digits since Jan. 9 and said afterward that it was “the worst game of his career,” adding that he will immediately study the game to see what went wrong. He should fare much better vs. Houston (Friday) and New Orleans (Saturday). Beyond that, Ayton and the Suns don’t have a great schedule with three games in the next two weeks.
Houston Rockets Fantasy Spin
Chris Paul (rest) has been ruled out of Friday’s game vs. the Suns. Paul has been struggling of late but had played in each of the Rockets previous 16 contests. While Friday’s game is not part of a back-to-back, the Rockets want to keep CP3 fresh for the postseason, and the Suns have the worst record in the Western Conference. Hopefully, the night off will help him snap out of his shooting slump. Austin Rivers, Gerald Green, Eric Gordon and Iman Shumpert will soak up extra minutes with Paul sidelined.
NBA Betting Trends

Prediction
The Suns have covered the spread in 20 of their last 27 trips to Houston, while the road team is 4-1 at the betting window in the previous five meetings between these two teams. The Suns have also covered in five of their previous six games while the Rockets have struggled inside conference play, going 1-4 ATS in their last five games versus the rest of the West. Houston is also 2-10-1 against the spread in their last 13 games versus a team with a losing record.
