Pistons vs. Hornets Prediction
After stumbling in New York last weekend the Pistons have won back-to-back games as an underdog. Can they do it again tonight when they visit the Hornets at 7:00PM ET?
Detroit is a 4.5-point road underdog versus Charlotte for tonight’s game, according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv. The Pistons had opened as 4-point dogs before the line was bet up, while the total has gone up as well, from 200 to 200.5.
Public bettors backing the Hornets at over 70% at the betting window
The Hornets are red-hot, winning five straight games behind strong performances by Kemba Walker. But the Pistons can move within 1 1/2 games of Charlotte in a tight Eastern Conference and can answer the Hornets tonight with Andre Drummond, who had 25 points and 17 boards for his league-best 54th double-double in Wednesday’s 102-96 victory over the Blazers. Tobias Harris also added 19 points in the victory.
Charlotte is shooting 43.4 percent from field-goal range, while Detroit shoots 43.7. The Hornets are averaging 29.4 percent from 3-point range, which leads the Eastern Conference, but the Pistons are right there at 26.3 percent. Thus, these teams are pretty evenly matched and yet, Detroit is 8-3 against the spread in its last 11 trips to Charlotte while the road team has covered in 13 of the last 19 meetings.
The Pistons should hang.
