According to the latest oddsmakers, Los Angeles is the favorite in this game, as the Clippers are getting odds of -9.5 points against the Blazers. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 230.5 points. The public betting currently has 60 percent going on Clippers as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Blazers trying to heat up

Portland is riding a three-game winning streak right now, but the wins have come against Chicago and Oklahoma City. Still, its three straight to move the Blazers to 8-12 on the season, 5-8 on the road, 9-10-1 against the spread and 11-9 with the over.

The Blazers are putting up 113.6 points per game on offense this year while shooting 45.1 percent from the field. Defensively, Portland is giving up 114.6 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 44 percent against them. The addition of Carmelo Anthony has given the team a nice boost. He is averaging 17.7 points and 6.0 rebounds through six games with the Blazers. Damian Lillard is leading the team with 27.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists per outing.

Clips keep winning

Los Angeles has won nine of its last 10 games following a 150-125 win at home over Washington on Sunday night. The win moved the Clippers to 15-6 on the season. They are 12-1 at home, 11-10 against the spread and 12-9 with the under.

The Clippers are averaging 115.4 points per game this year despite having average shooting. They are giving up 108.3 points per game on defense while holding opponents to just 42.9 percent shooting. Kawhi Leonard is leading the team with 25.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Paul George is adding 23.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Portland

The Blazers are 3-13 against the spread in their last 16 Tuesday games and just 2-5 ATS in their last seven conference games.

Los Angeles

The Clippers have covered the spread in eight of their last 11 home games and in four straight Tuesday games.

Prediction:

These two met back on Nov. 7, with the Clippers getting a 107-101 win at home, covering slightly as a 5.5-point favorite. The Clippers have looked pretty strong when both Leonard and Paul play together and they will be on the floor at home against the Blazers tonight. Outside of the win against an awful Bulls team, the Blazers had lost four straight road games prior to that. I am not sure Carmelo Anthony is going to be the answer for the Blazers. He doesn’t offer much outside of some offense. I think the Clippers will use their superior bench and strong shooting from Paul to overwhelm the Blazers tonight and pick up a sizable win.

NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers -9.5
