Blazers roll in Game 2
Portland was on its game on Tuesday night when it rolled to a 114-94 victory at home to take a 2-0 lead in the series. The Blazers have now won five straight overall while covering the spread in their last three. Portland is 55-29 on the season, 21-20 on the road, 47-36-1 against the spread and 43-39-2 with the over.
The Blazers continued to shoot well from the arc in Tuesday’s win, going 13 of 32 from 3-point land. Damian Lillard had another strong game with 29 points and six assists while C.J. McCollum had 33 points with eight rebounds and five assists. The two combined to go 7 of 15 from the arc. Maurice Harkless was the unsung hero in the game, scoring 14 points while pulling down nine rebounds.
Thunder struggling on offense
Oklahoma City failed to get to 100 points for the second time in this series on Tuesday. They had just 99 in Game 1 and 94 in Game 2. OKC is now 49-35 on the season, 27-14 at home, 42-42 against the spread and 43-40-1 with the under.
The Thunder had another 16 turnovers in Game 2 and continues to really struggle shooting. OKC was just 35 of 86 from the field and only 5 of 28 from the arc. Russell Westbrook took the blame for the loss as he had 14 points on 5 of 20 shooting while putting up nine rebounds and 11 assists. Paul George scored 27 points and pulled down eight rebounds while Steven Adams has 16 points with nine rebounds.
NBA Betting Trends
Portland
The Blazers are 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six Friday games.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are just 9-19 ATS in their last 28 overall and 4-15 ATS in their last 19 conference games.
Prediction:
Oklahoma City really can’t play much worse offensively than they have in the first two games of the series. Their shooting should definitely get better at home and I think the turnovers will be cut down. Portland is a dangerous team, but I would expect the Blazers to not be as strong from the arc as they were at home. Westbrook was adamant about taking the blame for the Game 2 loss, so I expect the former NBA MVP to really come out and have one of his best games tonight. This is a must-win for OKC, so I expect them to really impose their will on the Blazers early.
NBA Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder -8
