Rockets vs. Suns Public Betting Information
The public is favoring the Suns in this game. Our NBA Public Betting Information page shows that 59% of public bets are on Phoenix -12 in this contest. Do note that those numbers are subject to change and could be different once tipoff rolls around.
Houston Rockets DFS Spin
The star for the Rockets in the early part of the season has been 22-year-old shooting guard Kevin Porter Jr. Porter is second on the Rockets in scoring at 20.7 points per game and leads Houston in assists (5.2 per game) and steals (1.7 per game). He’s shooting a respectable 36.7% on three-pointers this year as well, so Porter could be a nice value play at 2-guard.
Houston rookie power forward Jabari Smith has shown promise as well. Smith has scored at least 10 points in every contest this season and is leading the Rockets in rebounding with 6.5 per game and blocks with 1.3 per game. Smith might provide some cost-effective help if you need a big for your lineup.
Phoenix Suns DFS Spin
For the Suns, the big story is the absence of star center Deandre Ayton. Ayton injured his ankle in Phoenix’s 124-111 win over New Orleans on Friday and will miss at least a week of action. The Suns will be without their leading rebounder for the foreseeable future.
If you need scoring for your lineup, Phoenix shooting guard Devin Booker is one of the league’s best. Booker is averaging 29.2 points per game on 51.5% shooting. He’s also averaging 5.4 assists and 1 steal per game, so he could help you in those categories as well. The Suns’ Mikal Bridges is coming off of a monster game against the Pelicans on Friday where he poured in 27 points on 10-13 shooting. He’s an efficient wing that should be able to help in rebounds and blocks as well as points.
Rockets vs. Suns NBA Betting Trends
Houston is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following an outright loss of over 10 points.
Houston is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games.
Phoenix is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Sunday games.
Phoenix is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning percentage of .400 or lower.
Rockets vs. Suns NBA Prediction:
The Houston Rockets might be rebuilding, but they have several good young players on their squad that are trying to make their mark on the league. The fact that Phoenix will be missing Deandre Ayton will severely hamper their ability to cover this game in my opinion. I don’t think the Rockets will beat the Suns on Sunday, but because of the spread, they won’t have to. I’ll take Houston and the points.
