Rookie D’Angelo Russell: “There’s a lot of spoiled Lakers fans.”

Russell: A lot of spoiled Lakers fans

LOS ANGELES, CA (The Spread) – Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell has once again found himself in hot water.

View 2016 NBA Finals Odds

Earlier this month, Russell caused a small stir when he tweeted that the oft-injured Tracy McGrady “might have been the GOAT (greatest of all time).” Russell, of course, is now teammates with Kobe Bryant, considered among many as one of the best players of all time. Not wanting to offend the legend, Russell quickly apologized to Bryant and deleted the tweet.

While making a recent appearance with Laker fans, Russell tried to explain himself by saying he merely was inspired while watching old tapes of McGrady. Then Russell presumably failed to endure himself with fans by calling them spoiled.

From Mark Medina of the LA Daily News:

“There’s a lot of spoiled Lakers fans. I wasn’t downgrading Kobe at all,” Russell said Saturday in an interview with the Los Angeles News Group. “I was just watching a highlight tape of Tracy McGrady and I got excited. I tweeted and the whole state of California went crazy.”

Russell better live up to the hype because he’s started off on the wrong foot with many Laker fans.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Lakers are +9963 to win the NBA Championship next season.
