Bulls in massive ATS funk, visit Cavs
The Bulls are 24-18 on the year and getting double-digit points against the Cavs tonight in Cleveland, but they’re also struggling mightily at the betting window.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Bulls are 10.5-point road underdogs versus the Cavaliers tonight at 8:30PM ET. Chicago opened as a 10-point dog but apparently that wasn’t enough, as the number was bet up a half point. As for the total, it opened at 201.5 and that’s where it currently sits.
The Bulls are in a horrible funk against the spread, failing to cover in seven of their last eight games. Fresh off a 125-94 blowout loss at home to the Warriors, the Bulls failed to cover as a 3.5-point underdog last night in Boston (110-101). Chicago is also 0-4 against the spread in its last four games playing on no rest and is 1-4 ATS in its last five road games.
As for the Cavs, the team fired David Blatt on Friday afternoon and replaced him with Tyronn Lue. Cleveland has been much better against the spread than its opponent tonight, covering in five of its last seven home games. The Cavs are also 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games versus a team with a winning straight up record.
