Keldon Johnson accumulated 25 points (8-of-13 FGs, 7-of-11 FTs), two rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes. Johnson has scored 21 points or more in four straight appearances and 25 in his last two. However, scoring has never been an issue as far as Johnson’s fantasy value is concerned. It’s the lack of production outside of points, rebounds, and assists. Over the last two weeks, he’s providing 16th-round value in 9-cat formats despite scoring 21.5 points per game. During that same stretch, rookie Malaki Branham, who’s rostered in 17% of Yahoo leagues, has been a 10th-round player. Branham had another solid game Monday night, finishing with 18 points, one rebound, two assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes. Look for fantasy members to remember this season come draft time in the fall. Johnson matching his Yahoo ADP from this season (70) would be a surprise.
Charlotte Hornets DFS Spin
LaMelo Ball lit up the Hawks for 30 points (12-for-19 FGs), six rebounds, 15 assists and six 3-pointers in a 144-138 win over Charlotte on Monday. Ball was unstoppable in this game, as he finished with his second 30-point, 10-assist performance of his career. He also tied his career-high for assists in this game, as he led Charlotte to score 144 points. The Hornets are now 3-0 against Atlanta this season, with LaMelo being available for two of them. He hit seven triples in their previous matchup, so he has clearly had their number this season. Ball has provided second round value over the past two weeks, which is how he should play for the rest of the year, now that he’s healthy.
