Spurs, Warriors favored to win NBA’s Western Conference Championship

LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The NBA contenders are starting to take shape and a pair of teams have emerged as the frontrunners in the Western Conference.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs are the co-favorites to win the West this year, as each has 3/1 odds. The Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder each come in with 11/2 odds.

Golden State currently has the league’s best record at 23-4. They have a 1.5 game lead on the rest of the conference for the top mark. They also have a 5-game lead in the Pacific Division. Golden State is 10-1 at home and 13-3 on the road this season while going 18-9 against the spread. The Warriors lead the league in field goal percentage at 48.1 and also lead the league in defensive field goal percentage at 42.2.

San Antonio is the defending NBA champs, but they are off to somewhat of a slow start, going just 18-11 to this point. They currently are seventh in the Western Conference right now, 6 games behind the Warriors. They are also 3.5 games behind Memphis for first in the Southwest Division. The Spurs are 9-4 at home and 9-7 on the road while going just 14-15 against the spread. San Antonio is 11th in the NBA in scoring at 102.9 points per game and they are ninth in defensive scoring, allowing just 98.2 points per contest.
