Cameron Johnson tore his meniscus during Friday’s loss to Portland and will have surgery that will keep him sidelined indefinitely. It’s now official after other reports indicated that a torn meniscus is what the Suns believed Johnson had suffered. In their matchup with Portland on Saturday, Torrey Craig started in his place and finished with five points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks. Dario Saric came off the bench and added nine points and nine rebounds. Both guys will benefit from Johnson’s extended absence.

Doc Rivers said that there is a 75% chance that Joel Embiid (non-COVID illness) plays against the Suns on Monday. This must make him ‘probable’ for the game. He’s missed the last three games with this illness, so hopefully he’ll be able to return to the court soon if he doesn’t on Monday. Montrezl Harrell has been the starter with Embiid out, though he’ll return to a role off the bench when Joel is back in the lineup.
