Phoenix Suns DFS Notes
Deandre Ayton made light work of Karl-Anthony Towns in a 125-116 win over the Wolves on Wednesday, scoring a career-high 35 points (15-of-24 FGs) with 14 rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block, three turnovers and one trey in 35 minutes. Ayton had his double-double well before halftime and actually blocked a shot, which we must bring up as the 6’11” center has a whopping three blocks over his last 11 games (which is impressively awful). Ayton is a quality top-50 fantasy asset thanks to points, boards and a shooting percentage well over 60%, but his ceiling will forever be capped if he doesn’t add some blocks to his game. It’s not like he can’t do it either, as he averaged 1.2 blocks per game last season and 1.5 of them the season before that, so let’s hope he picks it back up to start the 2022-2023 season. If he can somehow score like this more often, that would obviously be huge for his fantasy game too.
Denver Nuggets DFS Notes
Nikola Jokic hit 9-of-15 shots and 12-of-13 free throws for 30 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, two steals and three blocks in 34 minutes of Tuesday’s 127-115 win over the Clippers. The Clips actually hung in this game until the end but Aaron Gordon and Jokic put it away in the final couple minutes. Jokic has a great chance at winning his second straight MVP, all five Nuggets starters scored in double figures and Bones Hyland and Austin Rivers played well off the bench tonight. The Nuggets face the Suns in Denver on Thursday night, which should be a lot of fun.
