SGA leads Thunder to win over Celtics
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 33 points (11-of-23 FGs, 8-of-8 FTs), 11 rebounds, six assists, three steals, two blocks and three 3-pointers in a 105-92 win over Boston on Sunday. SGA has been on a tear throughout OKC’s league-best 15-game winning streak, and that continued against one of the best defensive teams in the league. During this streak, he has scored at least 30 points in 11 of their games, though this was only his second double-double of the season.
SGA has been the third-best player in fantasy basketball behind Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama this season, but if he continues to play this well, he’ll certainly have a strong case for MVP at the end of the season. They have a three-game week coming up, starting in Cleveland on Wednesday.
Mitchell scores 19 points vs. Hornets
Donovan Mitchell recorded a strong line on Sunday with 19 points (8-of-16 FGs), three rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers against the Hornets. Mitchell had a quiet first half in this game and entered the break with just two points on 1-of-4 shooting. This was his second straight game with less than 20 points, which hasn’t been a common theme for him this season. However, it hasn’t negatively impacted the team, as they’ve won 10 straight games, with Mitchell scoring less than 20 in four of those. They host the Thunder on Wednesday, which will be a matchup of the two hottest teams in the league. If they want to maintain their winning streak, Mitchell will have to be better.
