Oklahoma City Thunder
The OKC Thunder picked up a huge road win on Wednesday night, taking down the Boston Celtics 118-112. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 34 points on 11 of 20 shooting from the field, and added 7 assists. Chet Holmgren contributed 23 points and 15 rebounds. Aaron Wiggins struggled in this matchup, going 0-9 from the field. The Thunder last lost on Monday night to the Nuggets, however on Sunday night they also beat the Nuggets which was their 7th straight win. Jalen Williams has been ruled out as he continues recovery from a hip injury. Chet Holmgren has also been ruled out for “rest”. Aaron Wiggins listed as a game time decision with an illness.
Detroit Pistons
The Pistons are coming off of a 129-125 loss to the Washington Wizards on Thursday night. Cade Cunningham led the team with 38 points, however he didn’t shoot the ball well. He was 9 of 25 from the field and 0-7 from three point land. However he did hit 20 of his 21 free throw attempts. Jalen Duren finished with an 18 point 14 rebound double-double. The Pistons beat the Wizards in the previous matchup on Tuesday night 123-103.
Thunder vs. Pistons Betting Trends
Oklahoma City is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games
The OVER is 7-3 in Oklahoma City’s last 10 games
Detroit is 4-2 ATS in their last 6 home games
The UNDER is 3-1 in Detroit’s last 4 games
Thunder vs. Pistons Prediction:
I like the Thunder to cover the spread on the road on Saturday night. Oklahoma City has won and covered in 4 of their last 5 games. On the road, the Thunder have covered in 4 straight games, including against the defending champ Celtics and the Memphis Grizzlies. The Pistons are the 2nd best team in the NBA ATS when playing on the road, with a 21-11-2 record. However at home this season, they are 16-16-1. The Thunder are one of the best teams in the NBA and they are led by one of the best players in the NBA in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. I’ll roll with them to cover a short spread against a team that is coming off of a tough loss against the worst team in the league.
Thunder vs. Pistons Prediction: Thunder -5.5
