Shai Gilgeous-Alexander lit up Phoenix on Sunday with 39 points (11-for-22 FGs, 17-for-17 FTs), three rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 128-118 loss. SGA put up big numbers in this game, as he has done all season, but it wasn’t enough to get past the red-hot Suns. With Dallas and Minnesota also losing, the Thunder were able to hold their place at 10th in the West, with a one game lead over the Mavericks. Josh Giddey nearly finished with a triple-double with 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, but he shot 5-for-16 from the field. Jalen Williams, Lu Dort and Aaron Wiggins were also able to score in double figures, with JDub adding three steals. SGA is by far the best, most consistent fantasy asset on the team.
Golden State Warriors DFS Spin
Klay Thompson played 39 minutes in Sunday’s 112-110 loss to the Nuggets, scoring 25 points (9-of-28 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) with five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and five 3-pointers. At first glance, Thompson’s night wasn’t a bad one. But Denver made him and Stephen Curry work for all that they got offensively, which resulted in some poor shooting percentages. While Thompson went 9-of-28 from the field, Curry (21/3/4/0/2 with two 3-pointers) was 8-of-28, and they combined to shoot 6-of-30 from beyond the arc. Despite efficient scoring nights from Donte DiVincenzo (18/13/4/2 with one 3-pointer) and Jordan Poole (17/2/3/1), the Warriors were unable to hold off the Nuggets due in part to the struggles of their two best scoring options. The loss dropped the Warriors into a tie in the loss column with the Clippers (5th), Lakers (7th), and Pelicans (8th) heading into the final week of the regular season. Golden State plays three games in Week 24, beginning with a matchup with the Thunder on Tuesday.
