According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Spurs are 5.5-point home favorites over the Cavs for tonight’s matchup while the total currently sits at 196 (after opening at 195.5). Cleveland is 27-9 straight up and 15-20 against the spread, while San Antonio is 34-6 and an impressive 28-12 ATS.
The over is a perfect 7-0 in the last seven meetings between these two teams in San Antonio and 9-2 in the last 11 meetings overall. The over is also 4-1 in the Spurs’ last five home games and 5-1 in their last six games overall. The over has also cashed in four of the Cavs’ last five games and is 6-1 in their last seven contests versus Southwest opponents.
Tonight will be only the fifth time this season that Cleveland will be in an underdog role. In the Cavs’ previous four games as a dog, they’re 3-1 against the spread and won by a combined average of 1.8 points in those games. As for the Spurs, they’re used to being home favorites and are 16-6 against the number this season when laying points at the AT&T Center.
