Edwards’ scoring tear continued in this game, and he has now scored at least 28 points and hit at least three 3-pointers in five straight games, which includes three games with at least 30 points during this stretch. Edwards had a chance for more on his game-winning attempt from beyond the arc, but it fell short. Unfortunately, his scoring bump has come with a lot of turnovers, and he has at least five in five of their last six games. Managers should expect more of the same in Dallas on Wednesday.
Irving back on track
Kyrie Irving accounted for 33 points (11-of-24 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, three steals, and three 3-pointers in 40 minutes in Monday’s 110-105 loss to Charlotte. Irving has gotten back on track since shooting 4-of-18 from the field in his January 14 return from a back injury. He’s shot 20-of-43 from the field in his last two outings, scoring 58 points in games against Oklahoma City and Charlotte. Dallas plays three more games during Week 13, including a Wednesday/Thursday back-to-back. Fantasy managers certainly hope Irving is at the point where he will not need to miss a game for injury management reasons.
Timberwolves vs. Mavericks NBA Prediction:
Take Dallas. In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, the Mavericks have covered seven times. These two teams have already met twice this season, with the two teams splitting on each other’s home court. The Mavericks beat the Timberwolves 120-114 in Minnesota, while the T-Wolves won in Dallas, 105-99. The Timberwolves have dropped four out of their last six game against the spread entering play tonight. Dallas has struggled of late, but the Mavs have been too good against Minnesota to pass up.
