Edwards has so-so game vs. Grizzlies
Anthony Edwards had 15 points (4-of-13 FGs), five rebounds, six assist and one steal against the Grizzlies on Saturday. Edwards has now taken 29, 21, 19 and 13 shots over his last four games. It appears that he’s dialed back his shot attempts lately to take on more of a playmaking role, but it’s unclear what the approach of the mercurial 23-year-old shooting guard will be going forward. Either way, Edwards’ fantasy value hasn’t taken a significant hit whether he’s scoring in bunches or his numbers are more well-rounded. He didn’t have a great game Saturday, though, as he had just 15 points on 13 shots and six turnovers to his six assists.
Poole struggles from the field vs. OKC
Jordan Poole shot 3-of-10 from the field and 7-of-7 from the foul line in Sunday’s loss to Oklahoma City, scoring 13 points with three rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes. To no one’s surprise, the Wizards weren’t competitive against one of the NBA’s elite on Sunday. Poole struggled, shooting 30% from the field, but he scored seven points at the foul line (the teams combined to shoot 68 free throws). Poole still provides 3rd-round value in 9-cat formats, rebounding from a disappointing 2023-24 campaign. Washington plays four games during Week 12, beginning with Minnesota on Monday.
Timberwolves vs. Wizards NBA Prediction:
Take the over. In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, the over is 8-2. The Wizards have also allowed at least 135 points in three out of their last four games. They just surrendered 136 points to the Thunder, but also allowed 138 to the Bulls and 135 to Houston. Washington has one of the league’s worst defenses and there’s no reason to believe the Wizards will start playing well now.
